Nowadays Baby Showers should be enjoyed by Mom and Dad. Why should dad miss out on all the games and delicious food. Baby Showers can be exhausting for hostess and Mom-to-be! From sending out the invites and making sure you please Momma’s appetite. The beautiful Mom-to-be may just need her partner in this wonderful experience, and no one better then Dad-to-be. We have some neat ideas to satisfy everyone and make it painless for the hostess!
You can’t have a party without invites. A great way to cut on costs is to send an Evite. Many people receive emails through their phone. What a great and efficient way to get those RSVP’s in a timely manner! For guests that do not have an email, a paper invitation will do. You can customize the invite with the ultrasound photo of the precious bun in the oven with Mom and Dad’s permission of course!
Things you need:
Cardstock 4×6 (color of choice)
Wallet size photo of ultrasound/or 3.5×5.5 size(to leave room for photo)
If you decide to use a smaller photo you can add all the event info on the front and map on the backside. But if you would prefer to use the larger image you can put all of the event info on the backside and add a folded print out, of the directions to the event.
In order to satisfy the craving of your mom-to-be, you must have a delicious menu! Do your research and ask momma what her cravings and what her favorite foods are. Buffet style serving is a great idea. It gives a variety and wide-range of entrée selections. Keep in mind that the weather is getting warmer and you may want to have lighter dishes and desserts. Such as
- Pesto Pasta salad
- Fruit salad with strawberries, blueberries, melon, grapes and apples.
- Chocolate stuffed croissants
- Mini cupcakes
- Flour Tortillas
- Cream cheese
- ½ fruit juice and Sparkling water
- apple cider
- fruit juice in a punch bowl with fresh fruit
You can’t have a memorable Baby Shower without a keepsake to remember! Personalization is very important when it comes to your party favors. Edible favors are very popular and a fantastic idea for this sort of party. You can have custom cake pops made or ordered in your party color scheme and wrapped with a pretty bow that has mom and dad’s name and Baby Shower date. At least you know this favor will not be thrown away!
Here is a list of games that are infamous at baby shower’s
- Mystery Dirty Diaper (a diaper with melted chocolate bar)
- Guess Mommy’s Belly (closest to her belly size wins)
- Guess the Cotton Ball amount in the baby bottle
- Guess the Baby Food (use a variety of flavors)
It’s fun to have prizes for the winner’s; it will be a good incentive. It can also create a fun and friendly-competition.
As you can see planning a successful Baby Shower is easier then you think. And having a co-ed party makes it fun for everyone. It will also create a fun and exciting atmosphere, when you see the males join in on all the games and excitement! Both parents get to share the memorable event that you were oh so kind to host!
