It’s time for a day of relaxation! Sometimes being a busy woman can make you forget how important it is to slow down, relax and take much needed girl time. You can always spend the day at the spa…but then again, why spend all that money when you can do it yourself at home?
Hosting a Spa Party
Since you’re probably not the only one that needs a break, why not host a spa party for all your girlfriends? It’s a great a way to get the girls together to chill out, gossip and make some great, lasting memories.
This is also a wonderful idea for bridal showers, birthdays and bachelorette parties. It’s easy and really doesn’t take much effort to do. After all, the point is to relax, not to make more stress for yourself.
Spa “Gift Certificate” Invitations
First off, you’ll need to send out your invitations. There are a variety of homemade invites you can create but the one I found to be the easiest and least expensive are “gift certificates” redeemable at your at-home spa party.
This is what you’ll need:
- Brightly colored cardstock in alternating colors (one 8.5” x 11” sheet makes two invitations)
- Envelopes (9″ x 6″)
- Scissors or paper cutter
Choose a cardstock of your favorite color and cut it in half. This will be good for 2 invitations. You can even use some design edge scissors to give your invites some extra pizzazz! Print out your party details on an alternate piece of bright colored paper and glue it to the back side of the cardstock. You will want the cardstock to be about ¼ inch longer around each side to make a border around the paper with the party details.
Spa Party Attire
Remind your guests to dress for the occasion. Have them come in something comfy like their pajamas or perhaps a bathrobe and slippers!
Light and Tasty Party Foods
For you spa party you’ll probably want light, snacky foods like a party tray of sushi, mini tea sandwiches, or a veggie and fruit platter. You can even keep it simple with a delicious fruit and cheese platter. Pair this with some gourmet crackers and a variety of red and white wines for your guests to choose from. Ah, heaven!
Tranquil Party Decor
Setting the mood for your party is very important in order to make your guests feel relaxed and comfortable. You can achieve a tranquil environment by dimming the lights low and lighting some candles. You can also burn some incense and play some relaxing tunes in the background.
Spa Party Essentials
Now that your guests have been invited it’s time to gather the supplies you’ll need to get your party started:
- Nail Polish – Have a variety of colors on hand for your guests to choose from.
- Small Tubs and Bowls – To soak your hands and feet in for your manicures and pedicures.
- Nail Files
- Clean Towels
- Creams and Lotions
- Exfoliating Masks – Perfect for facials.
- Cucumber Slices – To soothe the eyelids and reduce puffiness.
Congratulations! You’re all set for your spa party. Now you and your friends are ready to relax, have fun and enjoy yourselves.
